Heal, Grow and Live Better
A Temple, Refuge, Sacred Container and Retreat founded in Equanimity of the Divine Feminine and Divine Masculine
Why the Magdalena Healing and Retreat Center?
Do you remember being a kid, lying on the grass looking up at clouds while being in a natural state of gentle meditation, serenity and peace? What happened between here and there? What happened to the magic that used to live in the heart and the imagination? The feeling of being connected to a body, even if it was awkward and still new……
That is our purpose; to provide a strong and safe container, a temple, a retreat and a refuge where we can all do the work and experience the vibrational shifts of coming back to ourselves. A foundation from which we can build an adult life rooted in clarity of purpose, autonomy, pleasure, strength, and joy while supported by community, the Spirits of the Land, and co-created experience.
Our Story
The story of Magdalena began five years ago while in the process of doing our own internal work. For the first time in many ~ many years we began to dream our own dreams again, to drive through layers of social conditioning which held us back, and to truly touch and hold what we desire.
This intense, ecstatic and flaming purpose, co-creatively brought forth the casting of the magic which set the physical foundation for Magdalena. 160 acres in central New Mexico has been purchased and paid for in full with a beautiful 3/.4 mile long driveway constructed which follows and honors the natural contour and spirit of the land. A simple yet substantiative beginning for what is to come……
About
Ignacio was born a Mystic, Brujo Negro and Natural Healer in a Mountain Valley of Northern New Mexico. In the energy and spirit of such a place, all of this seemed normal. It wasn’t until achieving a Masters Degree in Engineering, an MBA, and then entering a technical working field that the divorce from the Spiritual World that secular culture insists upon, was acutely and painfully felt.
He has spent considerable time in South America, Mexico, amongst Indigenous Peoples and even cloistered for several years in a Monastery. All experiences which have enriched his understanding of the interplay between energy and substance, light and shadow.
As a professional, Ignacio has spent over 25 years in progressive roles as a Project Manager with his last endeavor being a $650 million industrial expansion. While he jokes that he has pretty much built one of everything, the Magdalena Healing and Retreat Center is truly the greatest project he has been blessed to be part of.

~ Land purchase: Completed
~ Road Access: Completed
~ Basic Engineering and Design:
Drill a water well; Estimated between 600-800 feet deep based upon NM State Engineer’s data and neighboring properties.
Geotechnical studies to provide data for the civil design of foundations
Engage the support of an Architect and Civil Engineer to begin design of substantial structures which merge gently with the surrounding landscape (masculine container) while being soft, sensuous and cozy on the inside (nourishing feminine). This without being pretentious.
Design of a 16 room facility able to house up to 32 guests separated into two distinct guest houses.
Design of a Main Building which includes kitchen facilities and a Main Hall which provides enough space for classes, practice, ritual and ceremony.
Planning of Gardens, Orchards and a limited amount of livestock allowing for teaching and living in a sustainable way.
